Other Cities
We want to see other cities restored. We have started evaluating ways to bring this vision to other places, but we haven’t pulled the trigger on any decisions yet. However, we have created opportunities for others to come to Austin in order to learn more about who we are and what we do.
Intensives
One way we help others learn more about what we’re doing in Austin is through an event we call Intensives. We’ve designed Intensives as a way to learn more about a vision, be exposed to different city restoration efforts, and begin exploring what God has for other churches and other cities. These occur throughout the year and include info sessions and panel discussions at The For the City Center as well as time spent in the nearby community.

Verge Network
We partner with the Verge Network as they host their annual conference. The Verge Conference is a gathering for people engaged in the mission of God with the gospel in their every day context. In 2012, the conference will have a “For the City” track and will include many great speakers, including John Perkins and Bob Lupton.
Also, Matt Carter, the Pastor of Preaching & Vision at The Austin Stone Community Church and a speaker at Verge 2012, wrote a book with Darrin Patrick entitled, For the City. In the book, Matt discusses how The Austin Stone is living out several of our core principles and utilizing our resources and infrastructure to do so.
